Kim A. Landis, 64, of Sweet Home, died Nov. 22, 2022.
She was born April 10, 1958, in Long Beach, Calif. Her parents were James Bard and Helen Louise Landis.
She lived in Brownsville and the Sweet Home area for most of her life.
After receiving her associate’s degree at Linn Benton Community College, she worked as a bookkeeper at Seed Research in Corvallis and most recently International Seed in Harrisburg. When she was younger, Mrs. Landis won several awards for ice skating and followed international skating as an adult.
Ms. Landis always loved animals and half of her TV viewing recently had been veterinarian shows.
The other half were shows about living in the Alaskan wilderness. She even had the opportunity to visit there.
She appreciated America’s national parks and traveled to many. The Oregon Coast was a favorite place to visit. Her love of nature inspired her to become involved with recycling to help protect the environment.
Ms. Landis is survived by her brother, David Jonathan Landis of Sweet Home; and sister Lura Lee Landis Rule of Colorado Springs, Colo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a favorite charity or SafeHaven Humane Society.
