Larry Leroy Rezek, 64, of Sweet Home passed away from cancer on Oct. 17, 2012.
This was his favorite one and only daughter’s birthday, a day that he always said celebrated the best day of his life, the day that she was born.
Mr. Rezek was born Sept. 10, 1948 in Reno, Nevada to Pete and Opal Rezek. He grew up in Sweet Home and graduated from Sweet Home High School, class of 1966. He moved to Seattle to work. He retired from Boeing after working for them for over 30 years, and relocated to Sweet Home in 2009 to be closer to family.
He enjoyed attending every game he could of his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with family. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his Harley and four-wheeler. He volunteered for S.H.E.M. (Sweet Home Emergency Ministry) after retiring. He was active in recovery and always reaching out to lend a helping hand to others.
Mr. Rezek is sur-
vived by a daughter, Lena Craig and her husband Dave; his dog Nikko; sister Carol Walvatne and husband Jerry; grandkids Andrew M. Swanson and wife Connie, Hannah Y. Lippke and husband Steve, Tyler J. White, and Jeremy A. White; nephews Cody Joe Walvatne and Bhrett LaLonde; great-grandkids Koda Turner, Ashton Swanson, Lylah Lippke and baby boy Lippke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Opal Rezek.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, November 11th, at Fir Lawn Lutheran Church, Sweet Home.
