Leanna Kay Lynn Smith (McKendree)

Dec. 1, 1986 – Feb.17, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leanna Kay Lynn Smith, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Leanna peacefully departed this life on Feb. 17, 2025, at the age of 38, leaving behind an enduring legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born on Dec. 1, 1986, Leanna’s life was a tapestry woven with compassion, laughter, and boundless devotion. One thing about our LeeLee is she lived life and left life on her terms. Her radiant spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Leanna is survived by her four beautiful children: Raymond Gastelum, Brianah Gastelum, Drianah Smith, and Heath Smith Jr.; and two grandsons. Her unwavering love and dedication to her children were evident in every moment she spent with them, nurturing and guiding them with care.

She is also survived by her mother, Sonya McKendree; sister Darline Cox; and brothers Zackary Cox, Tommy Cox, Johnny Cox and Daniel Brown, who will forever remember her as a source of strength, and her beloved Aunt Christy Lynn Benton, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins who shared in the bonds of family and love.

Leanna’s spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and unconditional love will forever be a guiding light for her family and friends.

As we bid farewell to Leanna, we find comfort in knowing that she rests in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of her Grandma Donna Kay McKendree and Grandpa Don McKendree and other loved ones who have gone before her. Her memory will be a source of strength and inspiration for all who knew her.

A celebration of Leanna’s life will be held at Harvest Christian Center on Saturday, March 1 from 2-5 pm, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share in the stories of a life, love and friendship.

Rest in peace, dear LeeLee. You will be deeply missed, but your love and light will forever illuminate our hearts. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com.
