The Lebanon Police Department is warning residents to be aware of a recent phone scam.
A caller, identifying himself as Officer Jeff Mueller, told a resident that Lebanon police had her grandson in custody and she needed to bring $7,500 cash to the Police Department.
Lebanon police do not have any employee named Jeff Mueller, nor would the police call and advise anyone to bring cash bail money to release a subject in custody.
Lebanon Police Department is asking anyone who receives this type of scam to call their local police agency.
