Lebanon’s police, sheriff and court updates May/June 2023

Warrants are out on the following individuals: Devin Richard Anderson, Shelby Keith Brigham, Selina Renee Ford-Blackburn, Steven Michael Cooley, Shawn Patrick Cruise, Michael Travis Flanigan, Jessica Jo Gambee, Matthew David Griner, Aaron Thomas Halvorson, Dustin Neal Herron, Christopher Allan Jackson, James Andrew Linder, Christopher Lee Hurt, Faron Walter Kennedy, Mikel Vincent Lizama, Jay Boyd Marsh, Kasey Wayne Miller, Rosemary O. Saviour and Darnell T. Wells.

Todd Allen Altherr, 35, was sentenced June 7 to 300 days jail based on a plea of guilty to third-degree assault involving a child under the age of 10. A charge of first-degree criminal mistreatment was dismissed.

Steven Dale Bergevin, 34, was sentenced May 17 to 13 months with the Oregon Dept. of Corrections, 12 months post-prison supervision and a $200 fine based on a plea of no contest to second-degree burglary. A first-degree theft charge was dismissed.

Neva Victoria Blake, 58, was charged June 9 with second-degree robbery, second-degree attempted assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and three counts of menacing. Bail was set at $50,000.

Courtney Meagan Fell, 34, was charged June 12 with fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence and two counts of strangulation constituting domestic violence.

Lacey Jane Gerig, 21, was charged June 5 with DUII, attempted assault on a public safety officer, aggravated harassment and resisting arrest.

Jeremy Kirk Gross, 35, was sentenced May 23 to revocation of a driver’s license for one year, 18 months with the Oregon Dept. of Corrections and 12 months post-prison supervision based on a no contest plea to unauthorized use of a vehicle. Charges of second-degree theft and possession of a stolen vehicle were dismissed.

Willa Raie Harris, 52, was sentenced May 31 to 106 days jail based on a plea of no contest to four counts of mail theft or receipt of stolen mail.

Melissa Kay Hunter, 36, was charged May 17 with unlawful use of a weapon and menacing.

Christopher Allan Jackson, 29, was charged June 15 with harassment, second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, two counts of second-degree attempted assault, fourth-degree assault, two counts of assaulting a public safety officer, two counts of aggravated harassment and attempted assaulting a public safety officer.

Brittany Leanne Johnson, 33, was charged May 23 with unlawful use of a weapon and menacing.

Hartley Brian Montgomery, 41, was charged June 5 with attempted unlawful delivery of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school. Bail was set at $5,000.

Mindie Lou Moore, 42, was charged June 13 with DUII.

Cody James Norman, 32, was sentenced on March 23 to 10 days jail, 24 months supervised probation and $200 in fines based on a plea of no contest to strangulation constituting domestic violence and fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence.

On May 16, the court dismissed without prejudice a case against Dustin James Phares, 41, of a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl). On June 12, Phares was charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree theft. Bail was set at $15,000.

Cary Nathan Pedigo, 34, was charged June 15 with failure to report as a sex offender.

Anthony Douglas Pool-Lara, 38, was sentenced June 2 to 188 hours jail and 36 months supervised probation based on a plea of guilty to strangulation constituting domestic violence and menacing constituting domestic violence.

William Blane Rivers-Kleinschmit, 27, was charged June 2 with DUII.

Christian Ray Sandoval, 30, was charged June 2 with strangulation and attempted strangulation, both constituting domestic violence, for allegations occurring in separate incidences. He posted 10% of a $50,000 security.

Nicolas Coronel Santiago, 50, was charged June 13 with DUII.

Ryan Matthew Scott Sr., 38, was sentenced May 5 to 13 months with the Oregon Dept. of Corrections and 60 days in County Jail for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and two counts of felon in possession of a restricted weapon based on a plea of no contest.

Curtis Martin Sly, 37, was sentenced May 24 to 60 days jail, 36 months supervised probation and $600 in fines based on a plea of guilty to unlawful possession of methamphetamine – commercial drug offense, attempt to commit a Class B felony – manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance Schedule II, and felon in possession of a firearm. Other charges of attempt to commit a Class B felony and felon in possession of a restricted weapon were dismissed.

Jeremy Wyatt Strawn, 26, was sentenced May 26 to 15 years with the Oregon Dept. of Corrections and 10 years post-prison supervision based on a plea of no contest to second-degree sodomy – first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree criminal mistreatment, which involved a male under the age of 6 and another person who was under Strawn’s care. Other charges of first-degree sodomy, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and strangulation were dismissed.

Jimmy Darl Sullivan, 54, was charged May 18 with first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree attempted sexual abuse.

Lindsey Anne Trowbridge, 40, was charged June 11 with DUII, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person.

On June 1, the court allowed a motion to dismiss with prejudice charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree theft against Christina Ann Watts, 35.

6:07 p.m. – Gary Lawrence, 58, of Sweet Home, arrested on Linn County Circuit Court warrant, 200 block Taylor Street. Report taken.

6:56 p.m. – Charmaine Hasenyager, 42, of Philomath, arrested for DUII and reckless driving, 30500 block Fairview Road. Report taken.

7:54 p.m. – Caller reported that property in 33600 block of Kauffman Road had been leased, with option to buy, to new tenant. Tenant who lived on property prior to the deal was allegedly tearing down the residence and had not moved out. Deputy informed caller about eviction process.

June 11

9:03 a.m. – Austin Richards, 30, of Sweet Home, arrested for first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass, providing false information to police, initiating a false report and for outstanding warrants, 31600 block Sand Ridge Drive. Jeffrey Comtois-Daggett, 43, of Lebanon, cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass. According to Sheriff’s Office, Richards crashed a truck into a ditch, and instead of calling for help, tore up a grass field, and continued to drive around in the field, causing $2,000 in damage. Deputies arrived and he took off running on foot, but didn’t make it far before being detained. While detained, he allegedly gave a false name before being positively identified. Report taken.

12:47 p.m. – Non-injury motor vehicle crash reported in 32500 block Denny School Road. According to Sheriff’s Office, John Harris, 50, of Lebanon, was driving when kayaks fell off his car and hit another car on the road. Harris was cited for sifting or leaking load. Report taken.

1:38 p.m. – Curt A. Blasch, 44, of Albany, cited for driving while suspended, failing to carry proof of insurance, and failure to register vehicle, Hwy. 34/Agan Road.

3:03 p.m. – Caller contacted Sheriff’s Office to complain that husband was not working on her vehicle fast enough. 2100 block Mill St.

7:47 p.m. – Single-vehicle, non-injury crash reported in area of S. Main Street/Oak Creek Way. According to Sheriff’s Office, 1996 Honda Accord, which had been sold a couple times, was found crashed into a ditch, partially blocking the road. LCSO is tracking down previous owners in attempt to determine who current owner is. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.

2:38 p.m. – Donald Brady, 34, of Lebanon, cited for operating a vehicle without a license, 32400 block Berlin Road. Vehicle was parked and valid driver responded.

June 7

3:21 a.m. – Deputy responded to report of male pushing motorcycle down roadway in area of Cascade/Wagon Wheel drives. Deputy learned man was intoxicated. Provided him a ride to his residence.

2:47 p.m. – Deputy responded to non-injury single-vehicle crash in 30500 block Westview Drive. Jodi Muses, 46, of Sodaville, the sole occupant, was cited for driving uninsured. Report taken.

9:11 p.m. – Amy Allen, 42, of Lebanon, arrested for harassment following physical altercation in 000 block Big Brother Lane. Report taken.

June 6

12:58 a.m. – Deputy seized possibly stolen vehicle, 500 block Cascade Drive. According to Sheriff’s Office, Harley Davidson motorcycle was left in the parking lot of Seven Oaks Middle school. The key was in the ignition. The plate was removed, and the VIN was scratched off. Motorcycle was not entered into the state database as stolen, but it appeared to be stolen, and was at risk of being stolen again. Bike was seized as safekeeping until the owner can be identified. 11:16 p.m. – Deputies arrested 13-year-old female who allegedly caused intentional injury to her mother, 4100 block Santiam Hwy. According to Sheriff’s Office, girl got into an altercation with her mother over a cell phone and was punching and kicking the mother, causing injuries. 2:03 a.m. – Hit and run reported in 30900 block 7th Street. According to Sheriff’s Office, a 1996 Plymouth Voyager was parked on the side of the road when a neighbor witnessed a small Honda car drift around the corner and hit the parked van. The Honda car took off toward Hwy 20. Investigation ongoing.

11:32 a.m. – Brandon A. Young, 29, was cited for parking in a prohibited place and for an Albany Municipal Court warrant for second-degree theft,

1:13 p.m. – Officer reported to crash when a driver allegedly swerved through traffic, Santiam Hwy. Crystal Dawn Harrison, 44, was cited for unsafe lane change. Eric Saul Calata, 21, was cited for driving while suspended. Report taken.

2:17 p.m. – Debra Nickless, 46, of Sweet Home, arrested for a Justice Court warrant, cited for driving while suspended, 39000 block River Drive. Report taken.

3:58 p.m. – Caller reported theft of bicycle, worth $250. 2100 block Mill Street. Caller was visiting a friend in a trailer and left the bike outside; when they came out, it was gone. The bike was described as a mountain bike, but the caller wasn’t sure about the make, or color. Value $250. Report taken.

12:26 a.m. – Caller reported vehicle crash through fence and shop, Airport Road. Lacey Jane Gerig, 21, was restrained in a wrap device and charged with aggravated harassment and DUII. Report taken.

1:12 a.m. – Emily Johnston, 25, of Lebanon, arrested for DUII, reckless driving, reckless endangering of another person, Stoltz Hill Road/Antioch Street. According to Sheriff’s Office, deputy observed 2020 Toyota RAV 4 driving with its headlights off and conducted a traffic stop. Johnston was arrested for DUII. Report taken.

8:14 a.m. – Darin Hill, 47, of Lebanon, cited and released on Lebanon Municipal Court probation violation warrant. Taylor/Willow streets. Report taken.

1:21 p.m. – Single-vehicle, non-injury crash reported in area of Sand Ridge Road/Webber Drive. According to Sheriff’s Office, Kirsten Harrison, 35, of White City, was driving a 2007 Dodge Caravan, “admiring the scenery, not paying attention to the roadway” when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road and drove into a field. The van rolled over, but Harrison was not injured. No citations issued. Vehicle towed from scene. Report taken.

9:05 p.m. – Fight reported at Willamette Speedway, 36600 block W. Airport Road. Deputy interviewed victims, witnesses.According to Sheriff’s Office, fight occurred over throwing a cigarette on the ground. A verbal altercation ensued, and a beer was thrown, followed by punches. The victim left the Speedway and went to Lebanon Hospital to get a cut on their eyebrow cleaned up. The suspect also left before police arrived. Deputies have identified the suspect, but had not caught up with them yet.

An hour later, someone reported that the suspect left in a pickup truck and backed into a 2003 Subaru Impreza, causing damage to the rear bumper. Investigation ongoing. Reports taken.

June 2

9:10 a.m. – Peggy Pitts, 35, of Lebanon, arrested on Lebanon Municipal Court warrant, 2200 block Willow Street. Report taken.

9:38 a.m. – Rick Jordan Maas, 43, was cited for Salem Municipal Court warrants for urinating in public and failure to appear on an original charge of trespassing.

10:54 a.m. – Carmen Rowe, 54, of Lebanon, arrested on outstanding Marion County warrant, 30900 block River Road. Report taken.

10:58 a.m. – Sheri Yvonne Bower, 50, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespassing and an Albany Municipal Court warrant for contempt. 4:37 p.m. – Officer attempted traffic stop with motorcycle driver. Driver continued toward Old Mill property and left on foot. Bike taken into custody.

6:12 p.m. – Report taken for theft of black Trek Rosco 8 Mtn. bike, Vine St. Loss valued at $1,500.

6:21 p.m. – Deputies responded to crash involving motorcycle in 33700 block Brewster Road. Operator was transported with hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. According to Sheriff’s Office, Emily Swadon, 46, of Lebanon, was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson 20C when she swerved to miss a slowing car in the road and laid the bike down in the road. June 1

1:07 a.m. – James Nordahl, 35, of Lebanon, arrested for failure to comply on a menacing charge. 800 block Nelson Ave. Deputies arrived in response to a report of a disturbance, found that nothing criminal had taken place, but arrested Nordahl on an unrelated warrant and transported him to Linn County Jail. 7:19 a.m. – Deputy warned male for illegal camping in 30600 block Old Santiam Hwy.

7:22 a.m. – Andrew Phillips William, 55, cited for dangerous left turn, Wheeler St. Report taken for motor vehicle crash.

9:58 a.m. – Tina Miller, 37, of Lebanon, cited for failure to renew vehicle registration, Park/Oak streets.

10:59 a.m. – Report taken for fraud. The victim reported a loss of $329,716 from money wire transfers to Hong Kong.

11:37 a.m. – Caller reported her mailbox, valued at $100 to $125, had been knocked over “again.” 32000 block Berlin Road.

1:40 p.m. – Katrina Lynn Gray, 39, was cited for an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for parole violation and a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for second-degree theft.

1:50 p.m. – Michael Branton, 37, of Brownsville, cited and released on warrant, 2300 block Willow Street. Report taken.

3:26 p.m. – Aaron Thomas Myers, 34, was cited for a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for probation violation stolen vehicle, a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to perform the duties of a driver, and an Albany Municipal Court warrant for contempt of court.

8:23 a.m. – Jose Gutierrez Ojeda, 23, of Sweet Home, cited for speeding, 4600 block Santiam Hwy.

9:36 a.m. – Deputy attempted welfare check on campers who had reportedly overstayed. Parties eventually called in to report they were safe – and fishing. 31200 block 1st St., Waterloo.

2:07 p.m. – Deputies arrested Bryanah Tranilla, 29, for two failure-to-appear warrants; and Hali Mentzer, 29, for multiple warrants from variety of courts in Linn and Marion counties and for giving false information to law enforcement officer, 1100 block W. Airport Road. Report taken.

7:06 p.m. – Jasmine Bowman, 31, of Lebanon, cited for failure to report accident to law enforcement following non-injury accident in 38700 block Lacomb Drive. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Bowman was driving a 2014 Honda Accord when, she said, a cat ran across the road, causing her to leave the roadway onto the gravel shoulder, crash into the ditch and end up in a farm field. The crash caused more that $2500 in damage to the car and property. According to LCSO, Bowman left the scene, saying she left to call her insurance company and didn’t think about calling the police. 8:24 p.m. – Adam White, 40, of Lebanon, cited for driving uninsured, driving while suspended, 2400 block S. Santiam Hwy.

8:37 p.m. – Caller reported a male who asked for cans might have stolen his wallet from his home, Hazel Dr. Custom Junior Jones, 22, was cited for second-degree theft and first-degree burglary, and for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for probation violation first-degree criminal trespass and a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for probation violation third-degree assault.

7:58 a.m. – Charlotte Aaron, 63, of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 73/55, 35000 block Knox Butte Road.

8:32 a.m. – Zakary Lyttle, 23, of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 85/55, 34800 block Knox Butte Road.

9:33 a.m. – Caller reported they have video of a tenant abusing a dog, Weldwood Dr. Investigation ongoing; report taken.

10:52 a.m. – Sandra Sturdy, 56, of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 75/55, 36700 block Knox Butte Road.

3:28 p.m. – Neighbors reported strange vehicle on vacant property in 31300 block Bellinger Road. Sheriff’s Office determined vehicle belonged to new owners.

3:46 p.m. – Aaleijah Taylor Thomas, 28, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree child neglect, a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of giving false information, and a Lebanon Justice Court warrant for contempt of court.

4:41 p.m. – Benjamin Hyatt, x, was cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and making an improper left turn, and for a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for second-degree criminal trespass.

10:17 p.m. – Officer attempted to pull over a driver for failure to obey a traffic control device, Airport Road Driver reached speeds of 70 MPH and could not maintain lanes on its way to I-5. Driver stopped near Grand Prairie Road and began running. Travis Alexander Ayres, 23, was cited for an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for parole violation.

10:20 p.m. – Deputies and state troopers assisted as Lebanon Police took male into custody in area of Highway 34/Agan Road. Male, identified as Travis Ayeres, 23, of Sweet Home, was attempting to elude police when his vehicle broke down. According to Sheriff’s Office, Ayeres fled on foot and was swiftly taken into custody.

May 29

7:55 a.m. – Caller reported a male fighting with family, Franklin St. A subject identified only as Ronald was taken into custody for fourth-degree assault.

8:57 a.m. – Jose Vazquez, 33, of Lebanon, cited for failure to renew vehicle registration, 38300 block River Drive.

1:03 p.m. – Deputies trespassed James Jordan, 41, from Waterloo Store for “odd behavior,” 39300 block Gross St., Waterloo.

3:22 p.m. – Garage sale proprietor reported receiving counterfeit money during garage sale in 600 block Vaughan Lane. According to Sheriff’s Office, a counterfeit $50 bill was passed at a garage sale. LCSO reports seeing an increase in this due to the ease of buying “Motion Picture Money” on Amazon. These bills look very similar, but have “motion picture money” written in small print on them. Investigation continuing. Report taken.

3:45 p.m. – Owen Daniel Mercier, 26, was cited for driving while suspended, and for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for probation violation third-degree theft, a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of failure to perform the duties of a driver, and an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for parole violation. He was transported to Linn County Jail.

4:35 p.m. – Mark Rettiner, 52, of Lebanon, cited for driving while suspended, 32600 block Mt. Pleasant Road.

5:54 p.m. – Caller reported $3,460 worth of tools taken from utility trailer, 30500 block Fairview Road. This was at the Lebanon Fire Station on Fairview, where the fire investigation team utility trailer was broken into. Two padlocks ($15 each) on each side of the tailgate were cut. A digital camera ($1,000), two fold-up tripod extendable DeWalt lights ($320 each), a DeWalt battery-powered saw ($200), DeWalt battery powered chainsaw ($400), DeWalt drill ($170), DeWalt impact wrench ($300), four bigger 20v batteries ($180 each) were taken. A new black cyclone fence was cut ($100). Tools all have “LFIT” on them. Detectives are investigating. Report taken.

3:24 a.m. – Monte Dale Lee, 51, was cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, and for a Linn County Justice Court warrant for probation violation contempt of court.

10:18 a.m. – Bryan Watts, 46, of Lebanon, cited for driving while suspended, 3200 block S. Santiam Hwy. Report taken.

10:50 a.m. – Deputy took report of attempted fraud, 29700 block Bartels Creek Drive. Investigation ongoing.

1:31 p.m. – Officer responded to call about a male hitting a female in the face, Main St. Report taken.

1:54 p.m. – Kendria Wright was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended, a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of methamphetamine

2:11 p.m. – Caller reported spare tire and wheel were stolen from back of camper while it was stored at secure facility, 37300 block Gore Drive. Tire and wheel described as 235x75rx15xl Patagonia All Terrain, valued at $300. Report taken.

8: 28 p.m. – Caller reported a speeding driver spun out of control and hit a road sign, Oak St. Caden Alexander Smith, 21, was cited for careless driving. Report taken.

11:56 p.m. – Bryson Brown, 19, of Junction City, cited and released for DUII, reckless driving after, according to Sheriff’s Office, registering .07% BAC at jail following stop at 31300 block Stoltz Hill Road. Report taken.

May 27

12:07 a.m. – Caller reported a male removed a sign from the ground, hit things with it and threatened her, 5th St. A subject identified only as Raisor was cited for Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failures to appear on original charges of reckless endangering and menacing.

11:39 a.m. – Wood chipper stolen from Florence recovered in area of Upper Berlin/Crockett Lane. Report taken.

3:24 p.m. – Motorist called Linn County Sheriff’s Office asking for assistance in getting unstuck from snow in 43600 block Snow Peak Drive. Motorist was able to self-rescue before deputy arrived.

3:30 p.m. – Jessica Ashley Wynne, 29, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for probation violation endangering the welfare of a minor.

3:53 p.m. – Caller reported a male tried purchasing two beers with fraudulent $5 bills, Park St.

3:55 p.m. – Callers reported subjects fighting behind the T-Mobile store. A subject identified only as Alexis was cited for harassment.

5:04 p.m. – Caller reported an intoxicated male drove through their fence, Shannon Dr. Kevin James Davis, 28, was cited for second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal mischief. Report taken.

10:56 p.m. – Caller reported a female threw a wine glass against their house, 5th St. Report taken for second-degree disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief.

May 26

12:38 p.m. – Vehicle reported stolen in 36100 block Airport Drive. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.

1:01 p.m. – Caller reported a driver peeling out and trying to run them over while they were in front yard, Oak St. Mailbox was knocked down. Report taken.

4:50 p.m. – Mail theft reported in 39000 block River Drive. Deputy investigated.

6:02 p.m. – Keith Lusk, 40, of Cascadia, cited for failure to obey traffic control device, 3200 block S. Santiam Hwy.

6:06 p.m. – Melissa Kay Hunter, 36, was cited for a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for unlawful use of a weapon and menacing.

9:03 p.m. – Caller reported a male who has been harassing residents was sleeping between their apartment complex and a dental office, Carolina St. Aric Cavel Simmons, 33, was cited for a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for probation violation aggravated harassment and was transported to Linn County Jail.

May 25

4:11 a.m. – Callers reported a male breaking windows and dumping items in a yard, Oak Terrace Dr. Responding officer reported the male seemed to be hallucinating, had exposed wires and flooded water around the residence. He was transported to the hospital on a police officer hold for being a danger to himself. Report taken.
