He was born June 16, 1952 in Eugene to Richard and Jean (Banta) Taylor.
He grew up and lived in McKenzie Bridge until his 20s, when he moved to Springfield.
He met his wife Judy in 1981 and they married in 1988. Their only child, Kayla, was born in 1982. They moved to Sweet Home in 1993.
