Leland Caldwell Sr.

June 28, 1939 – July 26, 2014

Leland Stanford Caldwell Sr., 75, of Sweet Home died July 26, 2014.

He was born June 28, 1939 in San Pedro, Calif. to William and Harriat (Zwivol) Caldwell.

After high school he served in the United States Army for three years. He came to Sweet Home in 1991 to manage homes. He attended Full Gospel Church and was involved with foster care and adoption, serving as a dad to many kids.

Mr. Caldwell worked as a farmer, at DHS and at the State Hospital in Porterville, Calif. for 10 years.

He loved to work on old cars. He enjoyed collecting World War II planes and was very involved in the programs and sports in Sweet Home.

Mr. Caldwell is survived by his wife, Emmie Caldwell of Sweet Home; 11 children – Troy Caldwell and Wendy Caldwell, both of Washington, Mellisa Travis of Texas, Samantha Caldwell of Sweet Home, Rachel Osborn, Leland Caldwell Jr. and Tanika Caldwell, all of Lebanon, and Even Caldwell and Seairra Caldwell both of Sweet Home; brother William “Billy” Caldwell of Coos Bay; many grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Greg Brown; two sisters, Rosy Caldwell and Elowise Caldwell; and brother Jimmie Caldwell.
