Leta Mae Pitts, 89, of Sweet Home died Sept. 17, 2008.
She was born March 15, 1919 in Rogersville, Mo., to Corbet and Anna (Carter) Hand.
She married George Albert Pitts in Garden City, Kan., on July 26, 1936. They settled in Crawfordsville in 1952 and have lived there ever since.
Mrs. Pitts loved gambling. She and her husband would go to Reno and Spirit Mountain. She loved fishing on the Snake River, attending garage sales, and growing and tending flowers. She was an excellent mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children. Thomas Pitts of Sweet Home, Peggy Dain of Crawfordsville, Edgar Pitts of Sweet Home and Steve Pitts of Lebanon; brother Gene Beasley of Lebanon; sister Carolyn Rodgers of Lebanon; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by her husband, George; daughter Patricia Baker; grandson Ryan Pitts; sister Venia Barstad; brothers Robert Hand, Jerry Beasley and Riley Beasley; and baby nephew Nolan Campbell.
A funeral service was held Sept. 23 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
