Letha Opal Rainbolt, of Brownsville died Dec. 8, 2010 at her home.
She was born March 15, 1919 in Baker to Chester and Susie (Bell) Newton.
As a girl she picked strawberries in the Salem area, where she met her future husband. She married Otto Rainbolt on May 8, 1939 in Vancouver, Wash. They lived in the Salem and Keizer area since 1949.
Mrs. Rainbolt worked at the Coronet Store in Salem for many years. The Rainbolts loved bowling. After Mr. Rainbolt died, she moved to Brownsville in 2002 to be near her son.
She was a member and volunteered at Keizer Christian Church and Family Bible Church in Brownsville.
Mrs. Rainbolt is survived by her son Daryl and daughter-in-law Margaret Rainbolt of Brownsville; brother Kenny Newton of Newberg; five grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; brothers Carl Newton and Glen Newton; and sister Ruby Newton.
Memorial services have been held. A private family graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memorial in Salem.
