Letter: Concert’s success was joint effort (Sept. 29, 2021)

Editor:

Dr. Carmen Hall’s classical piano concert in the high school auditorium last Monday, Sept. 20, was met with 86 appreciative audience members.

Dr. Hall’s technique was skillfully exciting; her program well-designed.

Concert attendees thoroughly enjoyed this special and too-rare event. Positive, enthusiastic audience comments asked for more opportunities like this.

Donations were generous and gratefully received by SH Rotary and SHOCASE.

Our sincere gratitude goes to The Larson Family Foundation for their generous support in making this dream a reality.

This very special concert took a Sweet Home army of dedicated volunteers to make it happen.  Special thanks to Carmen Wolthius Hall, Rotarians Rose Peda (also of SHOCASE), and Dr. Henry Wolthius, who told us his daughter Carmen was looking forward to performing at SHHS.

Much appreciation to:  Sweet Home School District Business Manager Kevin Strong, SHHS Principal Ralph Brown, Maintenance Director Josh Darwood, Lights and Sound Ramil Malabago, SHHS Head Custodian Darren Schultz, former Supt. Tom Yahraes, The New Era’s Scott Swanson, Dr. Ivan Wolthius flowers and projection equipment, Eli Heide SHHS Band Director, and Alison Hay SHHS Vocal Director, and the LDS Church members with their refreshments.

This couldn’t have happened without each of you!
