Letter: School trustee’s parting words (April 26, 2023)

First, it has been a pleasure serving on your school board, but after 20 years I have decided to step away.

For most of the 20 years I have been on the board, we have all been able to work well together and always try to do what is best for the kids of our community. We have great staff and leadership which has helped being a board member a lot easier.

Thanks for allowing me to serve you!

Second, we have six open zones up for election this year. Three zones are uncontested and three zones are contested. I would like to speak to the contested zones and encourage all of you to join me in voting for Kevin Hill for Zone 3 (Foster), Michael E. Adams for Zone 5 (At Large) and Dale Keene for Zone 9 (Sweet Home). I know these three gentlemen personally and all three currently serve on the board. They bring experience and care deeply for our children’s education. They will serve our community well.

Finally, regardless of who is serving on our school board, let’s pray for them regularly. There can be times when tough decisions need to be made and our board members can use all our support.

Prayer is one of the easiest ways to provide that support!
