I participated in a caravan from Sweet Home through Lebanon and on to Albany all to highlight the fact that our current representative to Congressional District 5, Lori Chavez-Deremer, does not represent me and many others in our recently formed District. She does not hold unscripted town halls but does have time to vote reliably with the extreme Mike Johnson.
I deliver Meals on Wheels in Lebanon and was astonished that Lori voted against funding this necessary program for the elderly. I also had a question about her stance on a healthcare related subject and instead of a straight answer, I received a form email saying she was investigating and if I had further questions, to write again! Regretfully, I don’t think I’m the only person that was treated so badly. Janelle Bynum is more professional and available to constituents. She has been in the State Legislature since 2017 in another District and is now representing District 39 which includes Oregon City, Milwaukie and northern Clackamas County. I have seen her at a Scio townhall as well. She would be an awesome choice for representing the District and getting things done for the people in this District.
