Husky Teresa Lewis scored the winning run in the second of two wins at the annual Oregon All-Stars softball series on June 8 in Corvallis.
Lewis played right and centerfield.
“It was weird,” Lewis said. “I didn’t really know how to play right field.”
But only three ground balls were hit to her.
Lewis played centerfield her freshman year for the Huskies. She played third base her second year and short stop her third and fourth years. She also pitched.
She wasn’t struck out while at bats and thinks she was on base on nearly every at bats.
She was walked in the bottom of the seventh inning of the second game. She reached second on pass ball. She reached home on an infield error on a hit from the girl behind her to score the winning run.
The north dominated the south in the first game, Lewis said. The game was closer in the second game.
Lewis won a $400 scholarship in a drawing among the players.
