Once again the viability of the library could be in jeopardy as it is time to again renew the operating levy. Think back, for a moment, to May 2003. The library was closed for four months… Remember how unbelievable it was? Worse was the fact that books, music, videos, computers and all other services were locked up and available to no one. The city of Sweet Home had NO library. A 64-year tradition was broken.
Luckily, the people rallied and the levy was restored, as were the library services. Times are tough, but wouldn’t it be much worse without library services to depend on?
Here is your chance to support the library and renew the operating levy (the amount is the same as last time). Please vote by Nov. 7. Your “voting voice” counts!
