Linda Marie Eichner, 57, a Lebanon resident, died Sept. 7, 2006 after a three-year battle with cancer.
She was born to Lawrence and Luella (Ream) Lehman on June 23, 1949 in Somerset, Pa., the youngest daughter of seven children. She married George Eichner on May 17, 1974 in Phoenix, Ariz. They moved to Cortez, Colo. in 1977, where they raised their five children. The family moved to Oregon in 1989.
Mrs. Eichner was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She worked with the children at the Linn-Benton-Lincoln ESD as a language-speech pathology assistant with a group of co-workers whom she lovingly referred to as “the girls.”
Mrs. Eichner loved the outdoors. She was an active member of the Mt. Jefferson Snow Mobile Club since 2002. She enjoyed camping and hiking.
She is survived by her husband, George Eichner of Lebanon; sons, Rick Eichner and his wife Cristina of Phoenix, Ariz., Alan Ray Hartle, Jr. of Corvallis, and George Eichner, Jr. and his wife Eileen of Cortez, Colo.; daughters, Rebecca Upton and her husband Jim of Tipton, Mo., and Brenda Belt and her husband Chris of Dolores, Colo.; the father of two of Mrs. Eichner’s grandchildren, Louis Sidebottom of Missouri; 18 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by four brothers, Donald Lehman of Post Falls, Idaho, Terry Lehman of Lebanon, Delbert Lehman of Caldwell, Idaho, and Larry Lehman of Harrisburg; one sister, Anna Saxon of Show Low, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Lilley; her first husband, Alan Hartle; and her mother and father.
A Celebration of Life was planned for Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Waterloo Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86 W Grant St., Lebanon, OR 97355, which is handling the arrangements.
