Linda Renoud

Linda Renoud, 72, of Sweet Home, died March 8, 2023, at the Salem Hospital surrounded by her close family.

She was born Feb. 12, 1951, in Sweet Home to Noel and Lavida Richards. At the time they had four other children, Barbara, Sharon, Shirley and Steve. Some time later she was joined by a younger brother, Mike, and so the Richards family was complete.

Mrs. Renoud grew up in Sweet Home, attending local schools and graduating from Sweet Home High School. She met her husband Greg while in school and after a year of dating they were married.

They had three sons, Treg, Chad and Ryan. The Renouds lived in the Sweet Home area for the rest of her life.

Mrs. Renoud absolutely loved to cook and she was great at it. She even made a recipe book and gave it to family and friends. She enjoyed camping, dancing and bow hunting. In the 1970s she played slow pitch softball locally and in tournaments around the area. She also played pool, went to casinos, played bingo and even went fishing a few times.

Over the years, she traveled to Mexico with her three sisters and visited Canada, Florida, Reno and Las Vegas with friends and family.

Mrs. Renoud’s favorite thing of all was her two grandkids, Everett and Lorelei, and being able to spend time with them.

Mrs. Renoud was known for her generosity and compassion for others. For the past five years, she helped care for her mother who is in assisted living. Her sense of humor and wittiness made her a pleasure to be around.

Mrs. Renoud was smart and interested in learning and trying new things. For years she helped her husband run Greg’s Sporting Goods.

In the early 1990s she decided to pursue a dream and went to beauty school and became a hairdresser. She worked in that field for a few years, then left it to go back into real estate where she worked until she retired in August 2019.

Although she worked a number of jobs over the years, her passion was in real estate sales and she was well known in the area.

Mrs. Renoud is survived by Greg, her husband of 57 years; sons Treg of St. Petersburg, Fla., Chad of Oregon City, and Ryan and daughter-in-law Tonya of Sweet Home; two grandchildren; her mother; and five siblings.

A graveside service will be held at Lewis Cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18. Family and friends are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital or a favorite charity.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
