Linn County receives Community Development Block Grant to expand Sweet Home Health Clinic Facility

Linn County has been awarded a grant of $300,000 from the Oregon Community Development Block Grant Program to expand the Linn County Sweet Home Health Clinic and Justice Court facility.

The proposed expansion will approximately double the size of the existing facility by adding 2,267 square feet and includes remodeling the existing space.

The addition will provide additional clinical space, an enlarged waiting room and a larger courtroom for Justice Court.

The project, which has been designed, has an estimated total cost of $410,000 with construction completion expected in early 2003.

The Department of Health Services provides Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Treatment, and Public Health services from the Sweet Home Clinic. The demand for services has exceeded both the capacity of current programs and the space available in the existing facility.

This project will allow an expansion of services and an increase in the number of clients served.

The Department will present service expansion options to the Linn County Budget Committee for approval during the Fiscal Year 2002/2003 budget hearings process.

Pending Budget Committee and Board of Commissioners approval and completion of construction, services could be expanded by early 2003.
