A Linn Shuttle bus that had been under repair got stuck late Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 5, after it ran off the road during a test drive on North River Drive. According to Linn Shuttle Manager Dawn Mitchell, the vehicle, which was being driven by a mechanic, caught some loose gravel on a curve that lacks a shoulder and toppled into the ditch. There were no passengers in the bus. It took a couple of hours and two tow trucks to get it up the steep embankment and back on the road. The vehicle was “pretty damaged” and Mitchell said she is working with insurance adjusters and the dealer who sold Linn Shuttle the bus regarding possible repairs. She said it will need to be “100 percent” recertified before she will allow passengers to ride in it.
