Lloyd P. Sheldon

Oct. 25, 1930 – July 1, 2011

Lloyd P. Sheldon of Monmouth, Oregon passed away July 1, 2011 at the age of 80.

He was born in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, raised in Salem and graduated from North Salem High School in 1949.

Lloyd served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean Conflict. Lloyd attended Oregon State University and finished at a private school in Salem.

He moved to Sweet Home in 1958 and retired from his first job some 38 years later. He was a hard worker for the Kiwanis, Elks, and the Chamber of Commerce of which he was president in 1964.

He liked woodworking, doing projects with friends and he liked to be with people. Lloyd loved traveling with his Airstream group.

Survivors include his wife Peggy J. Sheldon of Monmouth, and daughter GayLynn Pack of Monmouth. His son Jeffery P. Sheldon preceded him in death.

A memorial service was held at the Sweet Home Church of Christ, 18th Avenue and Long St., Sweet Home, on Saturday, July 23, 2011.
