Local church aids in time of need

Editor:

This past summer, I came up with a breathing problem.

My VA doctor suggested a heart stress test. I had it done at the Lebanon Hospital and Corvallis hospital. I failed. After the doctor looked over the films and came into my room, after talking to my wife outside the room, he said I had 95-percent blockage.

He told me what he could do for me.

He has assigned Hospice care to me. I have a nurse and a social worker that comes once a week. We have all funeral arrangements done. I did that so a load doesn’t fall on my wife.

I did read in The New Era that SHEM is having a bad time. Do the people that use it know that they can get a free meal every Friday at 5 p.m. at the United Methodist Church?

Remember, open hearts, open minds, open doors. That slogan goes for Sunday services also.

I thank the congregation of the United Methodist Church for its support and helping during my ordeal.
