Michael Shain Thompson, 26, has been arrested and charged in connection with an Aug. 4 altercation that left him and Manuel Victor Jr., 27, injured.
Thompson was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon against another, class C felonies; menacing, a class A misdemeanor; second-degree assault, a class B felony; and attempted second-degree assault, a class C felony. He was arraigned in Linn County Circuit Court on Oct. 13. He is scheduled to appear in court next on Nov. 6.
On Aug. 4, Linn County deputies responded to an armed disturbance at 44090 Wiley Creek Drive.
A caller had informed police that Thompson had gone to the residence uninvited carrying a gun and threatening people, according to police. Prior to the arrival of deputies, the residents had disarmed Thompson, who then obtained a knife. The two residents were injured during the incident. The knife was taken from Thompson, but the residents and Thompson were all injured.
Thompson was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene where he had been listed in critical condition. He has since returned home. Victor was taken to Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis where was treated for a stab wound to the upper right quarter of his abdomen. Manuel Victor Sr. was treated at the scene and did not require additional medical attention.
