Longtime local Realtor Don Robertson has been named the 2018 Realtor of the Year by the Oregon Association of Realtors.
“Don exemplifies the best in our profession,” said Steve Strode, 2018 OAR president. “His dedication to his clients, the Realtor Code of Ethics, his community, this industry and his family are a model for all of us to follow and learn.”
Robertson was honored with the state association’s highest award at a special ceremony on April 12 at the Salem Convention Center.
A licensed real estate salesperson since 1990, Robertson and two partners opened Heritage NW Real Estate Inc., in Lebanon in 1992 to serve east Linn County.
He became a licensed broker in 1993 and is now the company’s sole owner and principal broker, managing 19 licensees and two staff.
He earned the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager designation from the National Association of Realtors in 2005.
Robertson is a member of the Willamette Association of Reators in Albany and currently serves as the chairman of the association’s Education Committee and on the By-Laws/Policy Committee.
In 2017, Robertson was the co-chair of WAOR’s Government Affairs Committee and an association director and Executive Committee member; he also served on the Oregon Real Estate Agency Rule & Statute Review Committee.
He also is an elder at the Southside Church of Christ in Lebanon and sits on the city’s Planning Commission and Industrial Development Committee.
“When I look at the list of previous honorees, there are people I respect so much,” Robertson said. “And to stand beside them is a huge honor.”
