Sixteen local performers competed in SHARC Showdown IV, held Saturday in the Sweet Home High School auditorium. The event was a fund-raiser for the Sweet Home Oregon Coalition for Artistic and Scholastic Enrichment, for improvements to the auditorium. The competition drew about 100 spectators, which featured 20 performers. Cash prizes in the high school-adult division were $200 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third. In the junior high and younger division, the first place prize was an XBox, while second- and third-place awards were Kindle Fire tablets. SHOCASE expects to be able to have final profits figures tallied by next week.
