Stephanie Emmert of Sweet Home has been awarded the $3,000 Dean’s Endowed Scholarship to attend Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tenn.
She is one of 123 first-year students at SCO, which offers a four-year doctor of optometry degree program.
A graduate of East Linn Christian Academy, Emmert earned a bachelor’s degree in general science from Oregon State University in Corvallis. She is the daughter of Cathy and Arlen Emmert, also of Sweet Home.
Established in 1932, Southern College of Optometry is one of 17 schools and colleges of optometry in the United States.
