Loyd Elmer Pickett, 87, died on June 13, 2011 at his home.
He was born on April 17, 1924. He graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1942.
Mr. Pickett served in the Navy Seabees during World War II.
He married Alberta Miller on June 13, 1946.
Mr. Pickett was self-employed in construction and logging and was a member of the Elks, Masons and veterans organizations.
He attended Sweet Home Evangelical Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Pickett is survived by his wife, Alberta; sons, Mike Pickett and Bob Pickett of Sweet Home; daughters, Cindy Bartek of Sweet Home and Doris Lawrence of Sweet Home; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three brothers and his parents.
A service was held on June 18 at the Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Pastor Brian Hotrum officiated.
Memorial funds may be given to Eastern Star cancer research.
