Police officers and operators stand at the scene of a crash Saturday morning, Jan. 3, near the intersection of Main Street and Clark Mill Road in Sweet Home. According to police, the collision occurred at 11:11 a.m. when a 2014 Mazda CX5 driven by Ashely Rena VanPatten, 18, of Sweet Home, struck a Ford F350 pickup driven by Timothy Lee Miller, 59, of Pinedale, Wyo. Police said VanPatten was northbound on Clark Mill, and made a left turn onto Main Street to head west, driving into the side of the truck, which was headed west. No injuries or citations were reported. The truck sustained damaged to the rear driver’s side bed and the Mazda had rather extensive front-end damage. Damages were estimated at over $2,500.
