Sweet Home Public Works begins striping parking spaces on Main Street from 10th Avenue to 18th Avenue today.
The crews will paint by sections, closing off parking in smaller sections to minimize impacts to businesses, City Manager Craig Martin said. The paint takes 15 to 20 minutes to dry. Once dry, cones will be removed.
Over the last year, the city has been working on getting approval for a striping plan that adjusts parking stalls to account for the bulb-outs on Main Street, Martin said. Some spaces will be larger to maximize the spacing.
Public Works officials are anticipating three days to complete the work, Martin said.
