As the year comes to an end, let’s appreciate the successes of Sweet Home FFA (Future Farmers of America) this year. The Sweet Home chapter has done many things in the last year between district and state competitions, earning chapter degrees and inducting the new 2024-25 officer team.

Starting with our Milk Quality and Products team, the team competed at both the district and state levels. The team had four people on the team, two of whom placed in the top 20: Jace Baskin placing 19 and Rylie Hollingsworth placing 12.

Our Meats Evaluation team competed at the district and state level. At the district level, we had two top-five placers: Jarron Slayter placed third, and Conner Stevens placed first. At the state level, we had Conner Stevens place fifth.

The Poultry Judging team also competed in the district and state competitions. Our poultry team placed seventh in the state competition. One of our five members placed at the state level, Anabelle Morris, who placed 15 overall.

Finally, our Horse Evaluation team placed fourth in the state. The team had two of the four competitors place in the top five: Ellie Graham placed fourth overall and Kailey Cooley placed first in the state competition.

We recently had our second annual awards banquet on May 22. At the banquet, we had seven of our members receive their chapter degrees: Kailey Cooley, Ashley Duncan, Brylee Hanson, Rylie Hollingsworth, Anabelle Morris, Eli Olson and Selah Wright.

At the banquet, we also celebrated our three graduating seniors, who were Jace Baskin, Brylee Hanson and Eli Olson.

At last, we inducted our 2024-25 officer team. We have eight officers for this year’s officer team: Anabelle Morris was elected as president, Selah Wright for the vice-president position, Ashley Duncan as secretary, Aubrey Newberry will continue to fill the treasurer position, Ella Forum in the reporter position, Caden Foley is the historian and Kailey Cooley is the junior advisor. We are excited to see where this team will take us in the next year.

This past year has been a great year for the Sweet Home FFA chapter. The competitive drive of our members to compete at a high level even with it only being our second year as a chapter is phenomenal. Thank you to all the parents and community members who have supported us this last year.
