Steven Zachery Koechig, of Sweet Home, was sentenced to four years in prison June 26 by Linn County Circuit Judge Fay Stetz-Waters after pleading no contest June 15 to attempted first-degree assault.
As part of the sentence, Koechig, 28, will not be eligible for early release and will serve 36 months of post-prison supervision. He was fined $200. He also must pay a judgment to the victim based on a determination by the court within 90 days of sentencing.
At 1:46 a.m., Sweet Home police responded to a reported assault at Circle K, 2405 Main St., where a male victim had been hit in the head with a skateboard.
Police arrested Koechig for first-degree assault in connection to the case later that day.
