Marjorie E. Cope

Marjorie E. Cope, 78, formerly of Sweet Home, died, Thursday, Nov. 10, at The Mennonite Home in Albany.

She was born Nov. 10, 1927 in Waurika, Okla., the daughter of Robert and Birdie (Davis) Smith. She moved to Jerome, Arizona as a child and later moved to California where she met and married Charles France in 1944. They moved to Sweet Home and later divorced.

She married Roy Cope on Aug. 17, 1969. They continued to live in Sweet Home where Mrs. Cope worked as a nurse?s aide at Langmack Hospital and for over 20 years at Twin Oaks Care Center before retiring in 1981. Her husband preceded her in death in 1982.

Mrs. Cope enjoyed crocheting, and collecting beads.

She is survived by three sons: Charles France of Pensacola, Fla., Gregory and Steven France both of Lebanon, four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and lifelong friend Kathy Withrow of Lebanon.
