Marjorie Love Helfrich

Marjorie Love Helfrich, 97, of Sweet Home died on Feb. 14, 2006.

She was born on March 22, 1908 in Carterville, Ill., to Willard and Alice (Krite) Peyton.

She married Prince E. Helfrich on May 16, 1931.

She lived in Klamath Falls in 1920 and then McKenzie River and Eugene for more than 70 years. She moved to Sweet Home in 2003.

She graduated from the University of Oregon in 1930 and then taught in Mosier and at McKenzie High School.

She enjoyed her family, traveling, reading and flower gardening. She was a good cook and was a member of McKenzie Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Prince, on June 23, 1971, and one grandchild, Lori Marjorie Helfrich.

She is survived by her children, David Prince Helfrich and wife, Terry Sambrailo, of Vida, Richard Peyton Helfrich and wife, Deanna, of Vida, Diane Helfrich Kaldahl and husband, Norm, of Lebanon and James Dean Helfrich and wife, Gayle, of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. on Feb. 25 at McKenzie Baptist Church.
