Marjorie A. VanEpps, 91, died Aug. 27, 2008.
She was born April 17, 1917 in Stevens County, Wash. to Grover and Olive (Fuller) Cleveland.
She lived up the Calapooya River in her early years. She also live in Blodgett, Fort Rock before living in Elk City. She managed the Elk City Store for a time. Later she moved and settled in Crawfordsville.
Mrs. VanEpps worked for Oregon State Horticulture Farm picking apples. She liked gardening and growing flowers as well as quilting and embroidery. In her earlier years she enjoyed hunting in Central Oregon and fishing at the Oregon Coast.
She is survived by one brother, Grover Cleveland of Monroe; a sister, Louella Quigley of Yakima, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry VanEpps, in 1998; two daughters, Shirley Schweitz in 1986 and Wanda Walker in 2004; two sisters, Echo and Muriel; grandchildren Kevin Walker in 1991 and Linda Walker in 1960; and great-great-granddaughter: Alexis Thornton in 2007.
