Mary Oxford

Aug. 4, 1930 – Dec. 19, 2013

Mary Oxford, 83, of Lebanon, formerly of Sweet Home, died of a stroke and complications from diabetes on Dec. 19, 2013 at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House in Albany.

She was born Aug. 4, 1930 in Wisconsin to Anna and Henry Larsen. While she was young, the family moved to Brownsville, where she went to school, met and married Ellsworth Oxford.

Mrs. Oxford was an animal lover, from birds to her horse Jenny. She also collected music boxes and Mt. Saint Helens ash globes.

While living in Brownsville, she loved to play volleyball at the recreation center. She liked country western music, growing plants and playing bingo.

Mrs. Oxford was a homemaker and later held various jobs, retiring from White’s Electronics in Sweet Home.

She resided at Willamette Manor in Lebanon, during the last five years of her life, where she had many friends.

She is survived by her seven children: son Doug and daughter-in-law Shirley of Lebanon; son Dean and daughter-in-law Nancy of Sweet Home; daughter Karen and son-in-law Mike Daniels of Albany; daughters Sue Baker of Albany and Patty Turner of Wilsonville; daughter Pam and son-in-law Matt Lillich of Sweet Home; and daughter Donna and son-in-law Mike Truett of Alaska.

Other survivors are brothers, Earl and Sandy; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Oxford was preceded in death by her husband in 1999.

A memorial service and burial will be held at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home at a later date.
