Matthew Roland Hubler, 42, a former Cascadia resident, died Dec. 11, 2018.
He was born April 2, 1976 in Lebanon, the son of Robert and Isabella (Buck) Hubler.
He grew up in Cascadia and attended East Linn Christian Academy. Following high school, he married Lisa Aldridge and they had one child, Micheal R. Hubler, in 1996.
The family continued to live in Cascadia where Mr. Hubler worked alongside his father building engines, and learning lifelong skills.
After a divorce, he moved to Albany, but continued at Hubler’s Engines until a fire destroyed the shop in 2011.
Mr. Hubler then decided to take his son and go into business for himself. He was always a true believer you didn’t need a college education to do big things.
He loved spending his free time with his family and life partner, Pausha Hart, staying home and relaxing on his days off, cooking or going for walks.
Mr. Hubler is survived by his son, Micheal Hubler of Cascadia; parents Robert and Isabella Hubler of Cascadia; sister Sarah Smith of Sweet Home; life partner Pausha Hart and her two children, Isaac and Caleb of Albany; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Fisher Funeral Home.
