Mauritz “Buddy” Ernest Johnson, 84, of Lebanon died on the evening of Nov. 18, 2010.
He was born Feb. 19, 1926 in Fargo, N.D., the third of nine children, to Gust Johnson and Lois Bly.
He married Mary Ann Dorothy Hansen, whom he had known his entire life, on Jan. 15, 1956 in Mound, Minn.
They lived in North Dakota and Minnesota before moving to Lebanon in 1968.
Mr. Johnson was a truck driver for 15 years, before starting work for Commodore Corporation, a mobile home manufacturer in Lebanon for 15 years. Before retiring, he worked briefly for Research Mannikins, Inc.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family. He resided at The Oaks of Lebanon since 2003.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his sons Mike and Mark Johnson, both of Lebanon; daughters Cindy Colvin of Arizona and Carrie Lien of Springfield, brothers Gary Johnson of West Fargo, N.D., Doug Johnson of Fargo, N.D., and Kenny Johnson of Brookfield, Wis.; sisters Elin Johnson and Vivian Johnson, both of Hunter, N.D., Doris Biel of Hopkins, Minn., and Shirley Bird of Aura, Iowa; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and more than 100 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Dorothy Johnson; and a brother, Robert Johnson.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
