The planting of perennial flowers and groundcovers in the median is planned for May 18.
Nearly 1,000 plants will be set in the ground by community volunteers and the Sweet Home High School leadership class with direction from several Master Gardeners, who encourage persons in the community to volunteer to help.
Persons should meet at Key Bank at 8 a.m. for a briefing on the day’s activity.
The irrigation system will be installed earlier in the week.
Boring for a water line at 15th Avenue was completed by Public Works last week.
Donations to the project, which will be matched by the Sweet Home Community Foundation, can be made to the foundation at P.O. Box 447, Sweet Home, OR 97386. They should marked with “median beautification” in the lower left corner.
