Sherrie Sprenger grew up in the Lacomb area, where she lives with her husband, Kyle, and son, Austin, 10.
She was appointed in February to fill a vacancy in House District 17 left by Fred Girod, who was appointed to fill a vacancy left by Roger Beyer in state Senate District 9.
Sprenger served on the Lebanon School Board for five years. During her tenure on the School Board, she served on the Legislative Policy Committee for the Oregon School Boards Association.
She has served as a rural deputy sheriff in Benton and Grant counties.
She is a small business owner in radio communications, Sunday School teacher at First Assembly of God in Albany and chairwoman of the New Hope Pregnancy Center board of directors. She served on the Linn County Compensation Board.
She graduated from Corban College in 2007 with a bachelor of science degree in management and communications. She is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Oregon.
