Princess Haley Hawkins, 17, is the daughter of Robert and Brandi Hawkins of Sweet Home.
“I chose to participate on the court because I’d like to be more involved in the community, help represent Sweet Home in a really positive way and also because the knowledge and skills I will gain through the experience will help with my future,” Haley said.
Haley graduated a year early with honors through the Linn Benton Community College GED program. She earned a Top 10 Percent ranking among traditional high school graduates from the Oregon State Board of Education.
She volunteers with the Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce, the Sweet Home Active Revitalization Effort, Peer Court, the Oregon Jamboree and children’s ministries at Valley Life and Crawfordsville Community Church.
“I love being outside, so my biggest hobbies are hiking, running or just walking around town, usually with a camera,” Haley said. “Photography is one of my favorite hobbies as well as scrapbooking and baking.”
Her parents are the biggest influences on her life, she said. “They’re always there for me. They’ve helped me through a lot, and I wouldn’t be who I am right now without them in my life.”
Haley plans to start at Linn-Benton Community College in the fall.
She seeks an associate’s degree and then plans to transfer to Oregon State University where she will major in business administration and management.
She plans to study another four years to earn her master’s degree in business.
