Meet the Court, Sportsman’s Holiday 2009; Princess Amanda Russel

Amanda Russell, 15, is a sophomore at Sweet Home High School.

She is the daughter of Rick Bruijn and Michelle Tonning.

She played softball last year and was involved with the school newspaper and yearbook. She is assistant coach for the Sweet Home Junior League Baseball team Greenberry Fabrications.

She loves reading, laughing and smiling.

“I ran for Sportsman’s Holiday Court because I thought that it would be a great opportunity for me to learn more about my community, gain skills in speaking, walking and communication with a big group or one person,” she said.

As a sophomore, her plans for the future shift frequently, she said. “At the moment, I would love to become a second-grade teacher or dental hygienist. It just depends on which way I want to help people.”
