Melanie Frantz, 41, of Sweet Home died Feb. 9, 2014 in her home after an eight-month battle against cancer.
She was born March 6, 1972 in Salem, the daughter of Mary Dee and Forest “Spud” Morton.
She graduated from Dallas High School and married James Frantz on March 19, 2005.
Mrs. Frantz was outgoing, loving and cared for everyone. She was known to give even the shoes off her feet to someone in need. With her husband, she was the co-owner of ExtraordinAir Heating and Cooling LLC and a member of Community Chapel church in Sweet Home. She loved to sing.
Mrs. Frantz was diagnosed on June 7 with Stage 4 glioblastoma multiforme brain cancer. She fought a hard battle, enduring two major brain surgeries and three other surgeries to her head for infection. On the night of Feb. 9, she said goodbye to her family in her home.
She is survived by her husband, James Frantz; sons Paul Manary and Canyon Frantz; daughter
Aizlin Frantz; mother Mary Dee Yoder-Webb; step-father Lyle Yoder; twin sister Chelle Ness and sisters Jazmen Yoder, Tauna Morton and Lenae Morton; brothers Jordan Yoder and Matt Nelson, and niece Jory Ness.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Olivia Iris Nicole; father Forest “Spud” Morton; and Grandma Pucky and Grandma Breedlove.
Services were held Feb. 22 at Community Chapel.
Her family would like to thank everyone who showed love and support during this extremely difficult time. We love you Melanie!
