Michael LeRoy Magers, 71, of Sweet Home, died July 31, 2022.
He was born Aug. 26, 1950, in McMinnville to Forest LeRoy and Bonnie (Rutherford) Magers.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972. He was in the Vietnam War for eight months.
Mr. Magers enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being in the mountains. He worked as a choker setter supervisor for Railroad in Hermiston. He also worked at Cascade Timber for 34 years.
He will be remembered by his family and friends and his love for nature.
Mr. Magers leaves behind his daughters, Teresa Gelatt, Lisa Magers; three grandchildren; mother Bonnie Falkenhagen; sisters Connie Bobb and Gail Magers; and brother Terry Magers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Forest Magers; stepfather Clem Falkenhagen; and his grandparents.
A memorial service with military honors will be at 1p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
