Michael Thomas Dant of Sweet Home died Thursday, Jan. 12, from complications related to lupus.
He was born June 4, 1952 in Carmel, Calif. He attended Denny Elementary School and Lebanon Union High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps for nine years.
Michael will be remembered by his family and many close friends as a joker who loved to make people laugh. He was an avid fisherman, a huge SpongeBob SquarePants fan and a self-proclaimed connoisseur of fine food.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughters Tara Thompson and her husband, Russ, Amanda Dant and her fiancé, Cory Glenn, and Alexandra and Alison Dant; one grandson; parents, Geraldine Baum and Michael Dant; and siblings Lorin Danté, Guy Danté, Puhi Dant and Kathi Dant.
DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home in Corvallis handled the arrangements.
