Missing woman’s body recovered from reservoir

The corpse of a Sweet Home woman who had been missing for more than a month was recovered last week Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman was identified as 27-year-old Tammy Louise Moschetti.

Deputies found the body on April 16 at the end of a culvert on the north bank of Foster Reservoir, approximately 250 yards from Foster Dam.

The body was found and reported to the Sheriff’s Office by a couple at the lake.

The body appeared to have been in the water for several weeks before being left on the bank as the reservoir level dropped.

On the evening of April 16, a deputy located an area on North River Road close to the location of the body where it appeared a vehicle had left the roadway and crashed over an embankment into the reservoir.

A Sheriff’s Office dive team located and recovered a 1983 Honda Accord Wednesday morning.. Moschetti was the last known driver of the vehicle.

Moschetti was last seen in late February by friends at a gathering at Gedney Creek Boat Ramp. The ramp is .7 miles east of the dam, Sheriff Dave Burright said. Her friends reported she had driven off alone, westbound, from the ramp and was not seen again.

She was reported missing to Sweet Home Police Department on March 10.

An autopsy performed Wednesday revealed injuries consistent with those that could be suffered in a motor vehicle crash.

Investigation at the crash site indicated that Moschetti missed a curve and drove off the embankment. The Honda rolled several times, and she was ejected as it hit the water.

“It appears that alcohol did play a factor in it,” Sheriff Burright said.

The vehicle may never have been recovered if the body had not been found, Sheriff Burright said. The car was in 15 feet of water.

Divers reported there was no visibility in the lake.
