A firefighter, right, moves in on a fire smoldering inside a manufactured home at 1900 Willow St. Nov. 7. The fire started in a washing machine and burned up a wall, said Fire Chief Dave Barringer. Fire officials were unable to determine specifically what caused the fire. Nine firefighters responded at 11:35 p.m. with three vehicles and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire affected two adults and two children. The American Red Cross responded to supply basic needs and shelter. Barringer estimated structural damage at $5,000 to $10,000 and damage to contents at $5,000. Early notification about the fire was key to keeping the house from burning down, he said.
