‘Mollie’ goes on Boys and Girls Club Auction block

Marty Forbes, manager of the Sweet Home Wells Fargo Bank branch, presents a 4-foot-high stuffed pony named “Mollie” to Shari Smith, acting director of the Sweet Home Boys and Girls Club, to be sold at the club’s annual auction, scheduled for April 25. The auction’s theme this year is “ARRGH! Kids Are More Precious Than Gold” in a pirate motif. Tickets, which include admission and dinner, are $50 per person. For auction tickets or to make a donation to the club, call 367-6421. The stuffed pony was inspired by Mollie, a white mare that lived in Roseburg and pulled Wells Fargo stagecoaches in the late 19th century.
