Citing changes in the way travel agents are compensated for airline ticket sales, John Paul Crowe closed Monarch Travel on Dec. 27.
Crowe owned and operated Monarch Travel in Sweet Home for about 10 years. Monarch Travel previously had branches in Salem, Albany, Corvallis and Lebanon. Lebanon was closed on Aug. 31, 2001.
He has since gone to work for the Oregon Lottery as a video support technician.
