Fresh off an individual championship and a team win at state, Sweet Home wrestlers get more opportunities on the mat this week.
At 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, seven Sweet Home wrestlers will face off with a Ukrainian team sponsored by Athletes in Action at West Albany High School.
Sweet Home wrestlers expected to participate in the event are state 126-pound champion Kobe Olson, Jackson Royer, Robert Watkins, Travis Thorpe, Robbie Yunke, Ricky Yunke and Jake Porter, all of whom placed fifth or higher in the Oregon state high school 4A championships.
Porter (145 pounds) and Olson (126) will wrestle at those weights in the all-star Oregon-California-Washington Annual Duals Saturday afternoon, March 11, at Shasta College in Redding, Calif.
Competitors in the annual event are all top place-winners in their respective state competitions.
