A letter in the Oct. 17 paper extolled the virtues of government protection though regulative oversight of industry.
That deregulation of airlines resulted in upheaval and the end to some airlines. I question the writer’s conclusion and proffer another. That deregulation allowed a facade of healthy business to be removed.
Unhealthy businesses were being bolstered by a false wall of protection from the ramifications of poor decisions and failure to innovate.
