Linn County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a motorcycle crash in the 36000 block of Northern Drive on May 11 at around 5:34 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies learned a motorcycle with a sidecar had driven off the road and over an embankment.
The passenger, Spyros Diogenes, 81, of Dallas, was considered seriously injured. Deputies attempted life saving measures until the Brownsville Fire Department arrived and took over efforts. The driver was evaluated by medics and did not sustain any serious injury. Diogenes passed away from the injury.
Detectives and traffic crash investigators came to the scene to investigate. Currently, the investigation is ongoing with no indication of impairment or criminal factors.
