A Willamina motorcyclist was killed Oct. 2 in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 east of Sweet Home.
Police and medics responded to the crash at 2:05 p.m. near milepost 34.
A preliminary investigation by the Oregon State Police revealed a green 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling east on Highway 20 near milepost 34.5. The motorcycle was rounding a right hand curve when the operator, Robert DeLong, 74, of Willamina crossed the center line and struck the front of a white Toyota Tacoma pickup operated by Kevin Schaffer, 27, of Santa Ana, Calif., who was traveling westbound. The motorcycle came to rest in the westbound lanes.
DeLong was wearing a helmet and was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency medical personnel. Schaffer was not injured as a result of the crash.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
An investigation is continuing.
